Behind the Scenes! RD x ABG ‘Crown Me: Awkward’ Shoot

This woman needs no introduction.. it was awesome getting to shoot with the one and only, Issa Rae!

Last week, I received an email from my homies at Royal Dynamite asking if I would model in their upcoming “Crown Me: Awkward” photoshoot. I didn’t have to think, I immediately gave them a call and told them I was all the way in! Then I heard the shoot concept – a diverse group of women showing off their unique awkwardness – and I couldn’t wait! The night of the shoot was a great experience. I had the best time getting to know some amazing new people. It’s so inspiring to see what we can accomplish when professional people come together determined to make magic happen!

I ran into my favorite ABG character, Baby Voice Darius, once at the Beverly Center
and in true fangirl fashion I asked to take a photo with him – so when I arrived on set and was told
I was going to model WITH Tristen, I was like YESSSSS

There aren’t many who have the patience to tackle my hair but Kacey Goldsbrough was down for the challenge and hooked me alll the way up! Check her out, she’s legit!

Shout out to my homie and on set stylist, Seth Brundle, for making sure we all looked fly!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my hurr!

After hours in hair and makeup I was ready to WERKKKK

Carol’s Daughter Transitioning 1-2-3 Workshop

I attended Carol’s Daughter Transitioning 1-2-3 Workshop with Dr. Kari Williams
and had a great time with so many wonderful people.

Dr Kari breaks down the 3 step transitioning system by Carol’s Daughter

So many ladies got to ask Dr. Kari their burning questions on transitioning.
I love to come out and support events that give women the knowledge + courage to begin their natural journey.

Up or Down?

I recently had some photos taken for Brand New Nation and showed up in my usual hairstyle, the bun. After a few shots were snapped I took a look and realized the hair needed to come down. That inspired this post. I thought I’d share with you the two hairstyles I wear 80% of the time.

Truth be told, my hair is up 5 days out of the week. I believe it’s because of this my hair has grown like weeds. My whole life I really styled my hair every single day. I mean full on flat, iron, curling iron, you name it. I get exhausted just thinking about it! These styles makes my life a whole lot easier. Plus the top bun is way chic, no?
